About Me

I was born in Michigan and grew up in a small town in mid-Michigan. In 1964 The Beatles came to America and I was excited (just like the rest of the country). Their music was unlike anything I'd ever heard and when they performed, they looked like they were having a blast! "That's what I want to do! I want to play guitar in a band", I thought. That event sparked my life-long love of music.

my radio

As a kid, I spent countless hours glued to the record player or transistor radio. In the sixth grade I joined band and played trombone throughout junior high and high school. Trombone was fun and I was pretty good at it, but I still wanted to play guitar in a band. My dad gave me my first guitar for my 14th birthday and I still have that guitar to this day. Eventually I saved up enough money to buy a bass guitar and small amplifier which I traded for a set of drums.

I also took auto mechanics classes in high school which lead to a job working in the parts department of a Mack truck dealership. I worked in auto parts industry for a few years but it seemed pointless. I wanted to create things. I continued my pursuit of playing the guitar. I also wrote a couple dozen songs and recorded them in my little home studio. I was passionate about music and radio and I wanted to be involved somehow. So, I set my sights on being in the radio or television industry. I got into photography, went to school for television production, and even worked as an intern for a rock radio station.

When personal computers became "the thing" and I was hooked. Computer programming provided a way to put into practice my technical side along with my desire to be creative. TV and radio aspirations took a back seat to computer programming and I eventually found a career as a computer programmer.

Eventually, I bought my first house, got married and had a family. In 2000 I, my wife, 4 kids and a cat moved to North Carolina where we lived for 12 years. We moved back to Michigan and have been here ever since. I continued my career as a computer programmer, but I never lost my passion for music, radio and television. I had been in the I.T. field for over 30 years and wanted to do something different.

One day my wife sent me a link to a voice over school. After looking over the course, I was excited at the prospect of resuming my passion for radio and television. So I decided to take the plunge.

I love the whole process of the voice over business from recording to editing. The prospect of helping the client achieve their vision is a thrill and I cannot envision myself doing anything else!
